Trump's Health Report Labeled a 'Complete Farce' as Doctor Blames Bruises on 'Handshakes'

May 31 2026

Trump's health report has been dismissed as a "complete farce" after a doctor claimed his bruised hand resulted from "handshaking." This revelation comes amid scrutiny over the timing of the report's release, which hit the public at 11 PM on a Friday night, leading many to suspect a strategic cover-up.

The physician's assessment declared Trump is in "excellent health" and "fully fit" to serve as Commander-in-Chief following a three-hour examination at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Dr. Sean Barbabella's report detailed that Trump underwent a CT scan, heart imaging, cancer screenings, and other preventative evaluations conducted by 22 specialists.

Critics wasted no time in ridiculing the claims made in the report. One user on X labeled it a "total joke," while another remarked, "That's not a medical report; it's a press release." Others went further, branding the entire document as "fiction."

After the extensive visit, Trump, 79, proclaimed that everything checked out “PERFECTLY.” He weighed in at 238 pounds (108 kilograms), marking a 14-pound (6 kg) increase since his last medical exam in April 2025. Despite receiving dietary and physical activity guidance, doctors concluded his “cognitive and physical performance are excellent.”

Standing at 6 feet 3 inches (1.9 meters), Trump's body mass index (BMI) is calculated at 29.7, teetering just below the obesity threshold of 30.

The report noted bruising on Trump's hands, attributed to “minor soft tissue irritation related to frequent handshaking,” and described it as “a common and benign effect of aspirin therapy.” Among the recommendations was a transition to low-dose aspirin.

Last year, the White House disclosed that Trump was diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, a condition prevalent among older adults that leads to blood pooling in the legs. The latest examination indicated “slight lower leg swelling” but also noted “improvement from last year.”

Dr. Barbabella reported no abnormalities, asserting that Trump exhibited strong cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and overall health. He emphasized that Trump's demanding daily schedule—filled with high-level meetings, public engagements, and regular physical activity—supports his overall well-being.

Trump underwent the Montreal Cognitive Assessment again, a test designed to screen for dementia and cognitive impairment. His doctors reported he scored 30 out of 30, matching scores from previous years.
