Trump's Iran War Bragging Sparks Fury: 'Delusional Idiot' Claims from Fox Fans

May 14 2026

Donald Trump took center stage outside the White House, and it didn’t take long for the backlash to erupt.

On May 12, Fox News broke into its regular programming to showcase Trump, 79, addressing reporters before his trip to China. The topic? His so-called strategy against Iran, a nation that recently retaliated against U.S. missile strikes by shutting down the vital Strait of Hormuz, sending shockwaves through the American economy and skyrocketing gas prices.

In the midst of this chaos, Trump confidently declared, “You’re going to see oil prices drop.” This comes on the heels of his earlier admission that he’s indifferent to the financial struggles of everyday Americans—a statement that has left even his staunchest supporters reeling.

“As soon as this war is over, which will not be long,” he boasted, “you’re going to see oil prices drop and you’re going to see a stock market, which is already at the highest point in history, go through the roof. You’re going to see the golden age of America.”

He further claimed, “With all of this, inflation is much lower than it was under Biden. Biden had the highest inflation in the history of our country. Inflation is nothing by comparison. Our inflation is just short-term.”

But viewers weren’t buying it. Social media exploded with criticism as fans of Fox News labeled him a “delusional idiot.” One viewer vented, “Why would anyone trust or believe what he says? Seriously?” Another chimed in, “Iran doesn’t need nuclear weapons to wreak havoc; they just need to control the Strait of Hormuz.”

A third user lamented, “No one cares about the stock market. Prices are increasing. The housing market is horrible. Gas prices are high. Where is the 2016 Trump?”

As the press conference dragged on, a reporter pressed Trump on whether he considered the financial strain on Americans due to the ongoing conflict.

“When you’re negotiating with Iran, Mr. President, to what extent are Americans’ financial situations motivating you to make a deal?”

Trump’s response? “Not even a little bit.” The very next day, he landed in China to a bizarre welcome from 300 children dressed in blue and white, waving both American and Chinese flags.

Stepping off the plane alongside his son Eric and daughter-in-law Lara, Trump met with Chinese Vice President Han Zheng, both men walking down a red carpet as children chanted a welcome in Mandarin.
