Trump Shares 'SNL UK' Skit Ridiculing Prime Minister and Himself

Mar 23 2026

Donald Trump took to Truth Social on Sunday, sharing a sketch from “Saturday Night Live UK” that lampoons Keir Starmer, the Labour Party leader.

The two-and-a-half minute clip features Starmer as a timid prime minister, visibly anxious about a phone call from Trump. The scene opens with him seated at his desk in 10 Downing Street, nervously awaiting the call.

“Oh golly, but what if Donald shouts at me? What do I say, Lammy?” he frets to his deputy, David Lammy.

In a moment that draws laughter from the audience, Lammy reassures him: “Just be yourself, prime minister. Yourself is who everyone likes.”

When Trump finally calls, Starmer panics, screaming and abruptly hanging up the phone. “Sod that scary, scary wonderful president. Why is he so difficult to talk to?” he exclaims.

As the sketch progresses, Starmer laments, “I’m out of my depth here, Lammy. How did Liz Truss make this job look so easy?”

Advised by a “Gen Z adviser” on how to engage with Trump, he responds, “I’ll try anything, I’ll do anything – except make a stand.”

Trump’s decision to share the sketch with his 12 million followers serves as another jab at Starmer amid ongoing tensions related to the conflict in Iran.

The president has expressed frustration with Starmer since the latter initially declined Trump's request for American jets to utilize RAF bases for operations against Iran.

Starmer later reversed his stance, permitting the use of bases solely for “defensive” missions targeting Iranian launch sites.

Trump has not held back in his criticism of Starmer, asserting he is “not Winston Churchill” and accusing him of being too slow to respond to the escalating situation.
