Trump Takes Center Stage at Women’s History Month Event with Self-Praise and Policy Claims
At a Women’s History Month gathering in the White House, Donald Trump redirected the spotlight onto himself, making the event more about his personal accolades than the women being honored.
Opening with a declaration that “women are the whole deal,” he acknowledged his wife Melania and key female figures in his administration before launching into a personal tribute. “They are so powerful and so important and so beautiful,” he stated, adding, “I'm not allowed to use the word beautiful, but I'm using it anyway. Usually, it's the end of your political career if you say a woman's a beautiful woman.”
Despite the potential backlash, he continued, “But somehow, it hasn't hurt too much. You are incredible women, and you're beautiful women.” This sentiment quickly transitioned into a discussion about international affairs and economic policies.

Trump touted progress in Iran, claiming, “The situation with Iran is moving along very rapidly. It's doing very well. Our military is unsurpassed.” He characterized Iran as “a nation of terror and hate,” asserting they are currently facing significant consequences.
As he introduced a farmer to the audience, Trump remarked on his administration's economic initiatives. “They're benefiting from our one big beautiful bill. I say ‘Great Big Beautiful Bill because I like it better… because that's what it is,” he explained.
He elaborated on agricultural relief funded by tariffs, stating, “And the $12 billion in farm relief we issued using tariff revenue, we get $12 billion, we took in tremendous amounts of money. We're taking in money because of the tariffs. And really, jobs are coming in through the roof.”

Before concluding with his final guest speaker, six-time Olympic medallist Kaillie Humphries, Trump highlighted his achievements in securing major sporting events. “We have the Olympics and we have the World Cup coming up… I did the Olympics, I got the Olympics, then I got the World Cup,” he said, lamenting that he has “never been given credit for that.”
Humphries took the stage after Trump described her as a “beautiful woman with blonde hair.” She presented him with her Order of Ikkos medal, an honor given to Olympians for their support systems.
“So we only get one, but I want to recognize the support and the impact you had on women's sports throughout the Olympic movement, specifically standing up to keep biological women in women's sports,” she stated.

“I believe this actually makes you the first president in history to ever be awarded an order of Ikkos as well. So thank you,” she concluded, marking a unique moment in the event.
