Zendaya's character, Rue Bennett, meets a grim fate in the Season 3 finale of “Euphoria,” succumbing to an accidental overdose after consuming painkillers laced with fentanyl, orchestrated by drug lord Alamo Brown.

In a behind-the-scenes segment, Zendaya expressed her gratitude, stating, “I just want to say, thank you.” She acknowledged the audience's support, saying, “I’m incredibly grateful for every single one of you; many of you have been here since the beginning and watched me grow up.”

Rue's death marks a brutal end to her struggle with drug addiction throughout the series. Her lifeless body was discovered by her mentor, Ali Muhammed, portrayed by Colman Domingo.

Ali's response was swift and violent; he sought vengeance against Alamo Brown, tracking him down to a strip club where he fatally shot the drug lord after a tense standoff.

Rue's demise isn't the only shocking loss in the final season. Nate Jacobs, played by Jacob Elordi, also faced a brutal end. He was buried alive in a coffin with a pipe for air, only to be bitten by a rattlesnake that slithered down the pipe.

Elordi reflected on his character's journey, stating it was “cool to see it all come to what it’s come to,” acknowledging Nate's dark choices and mistakes throughout the series.

Season 3 of “Euphoria” is now available for streaming on HBO Max.
