‘Conflict, Conflict, Conflict’: Marjorie Taylor Greene Sparks Outcry Over Trump’s Iran Address

Apr 02 2026

“War, war, war,” echoed through social media as Marjorie Taylor Greene voiced her discontent with President Trump’s recent address regarding the escalating situation in Iran. The former loyalist to Trump expressed her disappointment, claiming the speech lacked any mention of pressing domestic concerns.

In a 20-minute address, Trump outlined his aggressive stance on Iran, threatening to target their electric generating plants if peace negotiations falter. His rhetoric, however, has raised eyebrows, particularly as gas prices surge and public anxiety about the conflict intensifies.

Greene took to X to share her frustrations: “I wanted so much for President Trump to put America First. That’s what I believed he would do.” Her critique continued, “All I heard from his speech tonight was WAR WAR WAR.”

She further lamented the absence of any discussion on lowering living costs or addressing the national deficit, stating, “I’m so beyond done. I pray for our military and their families. I pray for innocent people all over the world.”

Despite the backlash, Trump remained optimistic about the military operations initiated on February 28, asserting that they were “on track to complete all of America’s military objectives shortly.” He warned of impending strikes, declaring, “We’re going to hit them extremely hard over the next two to three weeks; we’re going to bring them back to the stone ages where they belong.”

Joe Kent, a former counterterrorism chief who resigned in protest of the Iran war, cautioned against deploying ground troops into the region. “The best time to get out of a war of choice is now, before we lose more lives,” he stated on X.

Democratic leaders also criticized Trump’s address. Representative Ted Lieu highlighted the president’s remarks about funding public services, stating, “Democrats believe in taking care of daycare, Medicaid, Medicare, all these things. Republicans and Trump obviously do not. November is coming.”

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer described the speech as “rambling, disjointed and pathetic,” reflecting a broader discontent among Democrats.

Prior to the address, former Vice President Kamala Harris characterized the conflict as a “war the people do not want,” emphasizing the risks posed to American troops and rising costs for citizens. “He has put American troops in harm’s way,” she asserted in a video shared on X.

Yet, not all responses were negative. Senator Tim Scott praised Trump’s stance on Iran, asserting that the president was “right about the fanatical regime in Iran.” He added, “For too long they chanted death to America, pursued nuclear weapons, and killed Americans. The objective is clear, and I’m thankful our military is delivering on the mission. Americans are safer as a result.”
