Elon Musk Faces Accusations of Pretending to Be His Mom Following 'Cringy' Mistake on X
“My grandmother was a housekeeper in England,” Elon Musk tweeted, but it was his mother, Maye Musk, who stirred the pot with a reply that left everyone scratching their heads. In a now-deleted post, she referred to herself in the third person, leading to rampant speculation that Elon was mistakenly tweeting from her account instead of his father's.

“Your mom told me she was cleaning toilets in a Liverpool boarding house as a child,” Maye responded, but social media users were quick to point out the apparent mix-up. “Elon’s mom caught posting from the perspective of Elon’s dad,” one user quipped, while another joked, “Elon runs both his moms and dads’ accounts on Twitter. Pure cinema.”
As the chaos unfolded, Dean Blundell, a media commentator, chimed in with his take: “The richest man in the history of the species appears to have been operating his estranged father’s voice from his mother’s account.” He didn’t hold back, calling Musk “the world’s worst ventriloquist” with his family as the dummies.

Supporters of Musk suggested that Maye simply mistyped “mom” instead of “grandmother,” referring to Cora Robinson, Musk's paternal grandmother. But Blundell wasn’t buying it. He argued that the language used only makes sense if it was Errol Musk, Elon’s father, speaking through Maye’s account.
“The ‘typo’ theory requires us to believe that 77-year-old Maye Musk, a published author with a memoir literally about her own life, accidentally referred to her ex-husband’s mother as her own daughter-in-law’s mother,” he wrote. The simpler explanation? Elon was logged into the wrong tab.

Even Grok, the AI chatbot owned by Musk, weighed in on the debacle, labeling it a simple “mix-up.” The bot noted that while users speculated Elon had tweeted from the wrong family account, biographies clarify that Maye was indeed referencing Errol’s mother, Cora Amelia Robinson, who had humble beginnings in Liverpool before relocating to South Africa.
This isn’t the first time Musk has faced accusations of impersonating family members on X. The incident has sparked a flurry of memes and discussions about identity and authenticity in the digital age. As the dust settles, one thing is clear: when it comes to family dynamics and social media, things can get messy fast.
