Fans Roast Trump After 'Beautiful' Aide's Cringe-Worthy Helmet Gift
President Donald Trump received a personalized racing helmet, but the real spectacle was the backlash that followed, ignited by his aide Margo Martin's social media post.
On July 13, Trump hosted a White House event to promote the Freedom 250 Grand Prix, an IndyCar race scheduled for August 22 and 23 in Washington, D.C. This event is part of the celebrations for America's semiquincentennial.

The Grand Prix will feature racing legends from NASCAR and IndyCar, with cars expected to hit speeds over 190 mph on Pennsylvania Avenue. Trump stood alongside IndyCar champions Alex Palou and Felix Rosenqvist while Martin documented the event for her social media.
Martin shared a video of Trump receiving his custom helmet, captioning it, “@POTUS is gifted his very own Grand Prix helmet,” complete with an American flag emoji. However, the online reaction was far from celebratory.
Critics quickly pounced on the clip, mocking Trump’s ongoing health and weight controversies. One user on X sarcastically referred to the helmet as a “dunce cap.” Another commenter pointedly remarked, “Funny... he really could have needed that helmet 2 years ago on exactly today literally.”

Comments continued to roll in, with one user stating, “It won’t fit that yuge dome,” while another suggested Trump should sell the helmet and donate the proceeds to feed hungry children.
Amidst the ridicule, one user quipped, “Now he won’t have to smell himself,” referencing persistent public concerns about Trump’s health and mental acuity.
According to his latest official medical assessment from the White House, Trump weighs 238 pounds (approximately 108 kg) and stands at 6 feet 3 inches tall. His Body Mass Index (BMI) is calculated at 29.7, placing him at the upper limit of the overweight category.

Official White House medical documentation from mid-2026 claims Trump is in “excellent health,” despite a diagnosis of chronic venous insufficiency.
This condition leads to minor leg swelling and requires him to take aspirin and cholesterol-controlling medications. Nonetheless, doubts about his stamina and cognitive sharpness persist.
Penske Corporation CEO Roger Penske presented Trump with a custom red, white, and blue helmet adorned with a graphic of the White House. This event follows the UFC Freedom 250 fight also hosted by Trump, with the Grand Prix marking the first IndyCar race on the National Mall, offering free general admission despite anticipated traffic disruptions.
