Final Season of 'Maxton Hall': Who's Back and Who's Out?

'Maxton Hall' is gearing up for its third and final season, but not all cast members are returning for the showdown.

This German-language drama, which debuted in May 2024, captivated audiences with a tumultuous enemies-to-lovers saga between Ruby Bell and James Beaufort. Ruby, a scholarship student, stumbled upon a secret that thrust her into the orbit of the affluent James.

Based on Mona Kasten’s book series, 'Maxton Hall' shattered records, becoming the most-watched non-U.S. title on Prime Video during its launch week. The series quickly secured a second season and then a third.

Prime Video announced that the final season will hit screens in December 2026. Damian Hardung, who plays James, shared insights about the concluding chapter, expressing hope that the couple would enter season 3 on solid ground after their trials.

Hardung stated, “That’s why the third book is called Save Us. Because it’s about the two of them actually being together and fighting against the outer world.”

As for the cast, Harriet Herbig-Matten will reprise her role as Ruby in season 3.

Hardung confirmed he is also filming scenes for the final season, which will resolve Ruby and James’ complicated romance.

Expect James’ sister, Lydia, to play a pivotal role in this last chapter.

The series wouldn’t be complete without the chaos stirred by James and Lydia’s father, Alistair, who is confirmed to return.

Ruby’s family dynamics will continue to unfold as Greiner is set to come back for season 3.

Additionally, Ruby and Ember’s father is likely to appear in the final season.

Köhler originated the role of Ruby and Ember’s mother, but Gina Henkel took over starting in season 2.
