JD Vance Blames Henry Nowak's Murder on Migrant "Invasion" – Outrage Ensues

Jun 08 2026

JD Vance's outrageous claim that the murder of Henry Nowak is tied to an “invasion of migrants” has sparked a furious backlash from Downing Street, which accuses outside actors of meddling in British democracy.

The 18-year-old victim was brutally stabbed by Vickrum Digwa, and Vance insists Nowak would still be alive if Europeans had “stood their ground” against what he calls “politics of self-hatred.”

No 10 condemned Vance’s incendiary remarks as attempts to “stir up division on our streets,” urging respect for the Nowak family’s wishes to avoid politicizing their tragedy.

Bodycam footage reveals the harrowing moments before Nowak's death, showing police handcuffing him while he gasped for breath, despite his desperate pleas. Digwa falsely claimed he was the victim of a racist attack, leading to Nowak's untimely demise shortly thereafter.

Vance’s comments are part of a broader narrative pushed by the Trump administration, which stated: “Henry Nowak died the same way a civilization dies: abandoned, handcuffed by authorities who neither trusted nor cared for him, and accused of hate crimes he did not commit.”

He added, “His murder is as tragic as it is enraging. He should still be alive today.” Vance blames European elites for failing to resist what he describes as a mass invasion of migrants who harbor disdain for Western values.

A spokesperson from No 10 responded sharply, stating: “In recent days we have seen people trying to interfere in our democracy and seeking to stir up division on our streets.”

The spokesperson emphasized the Nowak family’s grief, reiterating their desire for his death not to be exploited for further division or hatred. “We should be respecting their wishes,” they insisted.

Following the murder, the Trump administration has called for an end to what they term “two-tier” policing. The US State Department remarked on social media that “ideological conditioning and two-tiered policing are glaring symptoms of civilizational decline.”

Downing Street firmly rejected any notion of two-tier policing in the UK. Tensions have escalated as Vance encourages anti-immigration activists to persist in their efforts after a massive rally in London drew tens of thousands.

Former President Trump has previously lambasted Britain and Europe over immigration issues, declaring they are “going to hell” and dismissing climate change as a “con job.”

Nowak’s family has called for a restoration of trust in law enforcement, emphasizing their desire for unity rather than anger to fracture communities following their son’s murder.

Liberal Democrat leader Sir Ed Davey has also weighed in, urging resistance against attempts to politicize Nowak’s death. He stated on social media: “We all need to resist attempts like this to politicize Henry Nowak’s death and divide our country.”

Digwa received a life sentence with a minimum of 21 years for the fatal stabbing, wielding a knife with a 21cm blade.

The Independent Office for Police Conduct is currently investigating Hampshire Police’s handling of the case.
