Jeanine Pirro Ripped Apart Over 'Total Bulls**t' Indictment of David Hearn

Jul 03 2026

U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro is under fire after her office indicted former Olympian David Hearn for allegedly vandalizing the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, with critics branding the entire situation as “total bulls**t.”

During a press conference, Pirro claimed there was a “violent effort” to rip up the sealant from the bottom of the pool, but provided scant details on the evidence backing her assertions.

She alleged that Hearn caused over $1,000 in damage, but when pressed on how she would substantiate that claim, Pirro snapped at a reporter, insisting, “With an expert. Come to the trial.”

Pirro stated that Hearn used “his bare hands” to inflict damage on the pool. When questioned if this indicated pre-existing damage to the sealant, she doubled down, asserting, “Oh, he damaged it. He damaged the pool. He damaged this pool.”

In a statement to the Associated Press last month, Hearn countered that he was merely examining a detached piece of the Reflecting Pool’s lining. “I’m a curious citizen,” he said. “I reached down to see what it felt like. It was very rubbery.”

The Democracy Defenders Fund, representing Hearn, condemned the charges as “outrageous and should be alarming to every American,” claiming it was an attempt by the Trump administration to deflect blame for its own failures.

Critics quickly drew parallels between this indictment and that of Sean Charles Dunn, a former Justice Department paralegal acquitted of misdemeanor assault charges after allegedly throwing a sandwich at a U.S. Customs and Border Protection Agent last year.

Many questioned why the Trump administration was so eager to pursue charges against Hearn while President Donald Trump pardoned over 1,500 rioters charged or convicted during the January 6, 2021 insurrection at the Capitol.
