Maggie Haberman Unmasks Trump’s Deceptive Transparency Claims: ‘Simply Not True’
Maggie Haberman ripped apart the Trump administration's claim that Donald Trump is the most transparent president ever. This assertion is a blatant falsehood.
On C-SPAN, Haberman and Jonathan Swan discussed their new book, “Regime Change,” revealing the mechanics behind Trump's media interactions. While Trump has made headlines with his direct calls to reporters, this tactic is a calculated move.
“In general, these calls, when people make them, they last about two and a half minutes,” Haberman stated. “He dictates the terms of the discussion, and it’s a way to appear and make a display of transparency.”
She highlighted the administration's skill in creating an illusion of openness. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt has repeatedly claimed Trump is “the most transparent president in history.”
“Which is just simply not true,” Haberman asserted. “This is not a transparent administration. Those calls allow him to maintain that veneer while really dictating the terms and not answering much at all.”
