‘Jersey Shore’ Star Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino Flirts with NJ Governor Bid

New Jersey could be facing a wild political twist as Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino toys with the idea of running for governor in 2029.

At a Vue magazine launch party, Sorrentino dropped a bombshell, suggesting he might enter the political arena. He didn’t specify his party affiliation but hinted at a radical platform: “I think the residents of New Jersey would like no property tax.”

His ambition comes on the heels of his plans to expand his drug and alcohol rehabilitation center business, Archangels, based in Tinton Falls. He aims to establish a center in every state before stepping into the political spotlight.

“I’d like to have an Archangels center in every 50 states, and after that, you know, I will introduce everybody to Governor Situation,” he declared.

Sorrentino gained notoriety through the “gym, tan, laundry” mantra on “Jersey Shore,” showcasing a lifestyle filled with partying and debauchery. However, his post-show life has been marred by legal issues.

He faced serious charges for failing to pay taxes on $8.9 million, income largely stemming from his reality TV fame. Sorrentino admitted to tax evasion and served eight months in federal prison.

His entrepreneurial history includes a failed salon venture, Boca Tanning Club, which shut down after racking up $32,000 in unpaid rent.

Sorrentino has been candid about his battle with addiction. “Many years ago I vowed that one day I would have the strength and resources to help those that are still suffering from the disease of addiction like I once was and here we are,” he stated during Archangels’ opening last November.

Adding to the controversy, Sorrentino hails from Staten Island, raising eyebrows about his New Jersey credentials. Current Governor Mikie Sherrill also doesn’t fit the traditional Jersey mold; she originally comes from Virginia.
