Jon Stewart unleashed a brutal takedown of President Donald Trump, branding him a “fucking idiot” for dragging the nation into a costly war with Iran, only to propose a deal that mirrors the one he previously dismantled.
Stewart showcased clips of Trump denouncing the prior agreement, brokered by Barack Obama, labeling it a “horrible, stupid deal” and accusing Obama of paying “$150 billion for nothing.” Trump called the payment a “bribe,” claiming such tactics “never work.”
Stewart sarcastically chimed in, “Exactly! Thank you, sir!”
He then posed a rhetorical question: “What kind of a fucking idiot would try and dangle billions of dollars in exchange for a deal with Iran?”
Following this, Stewart aired news segments discussing a reported $300 billion reconstruction fund for Iran as part of the new deal.
“I guess it’s that kind of fucking idiot,” Stewart remarked, pointing at an image of Trump. “There you have it, folks. Done! Only the great Donald Trump could fight a costly war to get the United States to remove the sanctions put on Iran by Donald Trump. In the words of the great Winston Churchill, ‘You played yourself.’”
Trump dismissed these reports as “fake news.”
Earlier, Vice President JD Vance suggested that Gulf allies would finance such a fund, indicating it would be “the sort of thing they could have access to” as part of the deal.
