Kai Trump’s ESPYs Appearance Sparks Orange Comparisons to Granddad Donald
Kai Trump’s appearance at the 2026 ESPYs has ignited a firestorm of ridicule, with many observers drawing unflattering comparisons to her grandfather, President Donald Trump.
The 19-year-old granddaughter of the former president strutted down the red carpet in a gold sequin dress featuring a modest thigh slit. While the outfit accentuated her figure without being overly tight, her glam style echoed the infamous MAGA aesthetic. Her hair, dyed honey-blonde and styled in soft curls, paired with heavily bronzed makeup, highlighted her deeply tanned skin.

Social media erupted with comments about her look. One user quipped, “Looking just as orange as her...grandpa.”
Another chimed in, “The Trump look is all over,” while a third user expressed disdain, stating, “She can barely play golf, but let’s invite her to the ESPYs. Get her out of here!!! Better yet, get her out of my country!! Don’t care how old she is, all Trumps must go!! Plus that dress looks tacky AF.”
Critics continued to hammer her appearance, with remarks like, “She’s becoming orange,” and “She’s almost the same color as the [red] carpet.”

One more user bluntly stated, “The fake tan looks terrible.”
Despite the backlash stemming from her family ties to the former president, Kai remains a vocal supporter. She recently defended Trump’s controversial event celebrating America’s 250th birthday, the Great American State Fair, claiming it was a massive success.
However, footage from the event showed sparse attendance at the National Mall in Washington, D.C., where numerous issues plagued the fair. Rainstorms forced shutdowns, last-minute cancellations disrupted the lineup, and on July 4, a thunderstorm delayed festivities by two hours, leading to an evacuation of the area.

Trump didn’t take the stage until 11:15 p.m., with fireworks concluding around 1 a.m. on July 5.
In her YouTube video, Kai insisted, “When they were doing the flyovers over the White House earlier, there were so many people. I mean, there must have been, like, half a million people. And then it sucks because then it started raining and lightning and everyone had to evacuate because of the lightning, so no one could come back until like 10 o’clock at night. But there were so many people there; I’ve never seen so many people.”
She added, “Really, really cool to see how many people showed up today for America’s birthday.”
