Laura Benanti Forced to Flee Home After MAGA Doxxing Over Melania Trump Impression
Laura Benanti's life was turned upside down after she was doxxed for her Melania Trump impression, leading to a forced relocation from her apartment.
The actress revealed that the backlash from conservatives was so severe it compelled her to move. During a podcast on The Downside with Gianmarco Soresi, she recounted the fallout from her satirical portrayal of Melania on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

On February 5, Benanti mocked Melania's self-titled documentary about the First Lady's return to the White House. While many applauded her performance, MAGA supporters erupted in anger, deeming the skit offensive. This outrage intensified after Benanti made a crude joke regarding Melania's intimate life with Donald Trump.
When asked about the hateful comments she received after her impression, Benanti stated, "Oh I had to move. I had to literally move. Somebody doxxed me. This like right wing psychopath sent an email blast to all of his people and he was like 'let her know what you think of her' and then put my f-----g address."
She described a chilling incident where someone photographed her while walking her daughter to school. A driver, who also provided security and identified as a MAGA supporter, was involved in the situation. He received emails from the individual behind the doxxing.

One co-host joked about the driver’s dual role, saying, "So he’s driving you around and he’s like 'hey this time I gotta kill you now.'" Benanti laughed but noted the seriousness of the situation, explaining that the driver alerted her about the threats and they ultimately decided to move from their owned apartment into a rental.
After clips of her podcast comments circulated on YouTube Shorts, viewers expressed outrage over the treatment Benanti faced. One commenter lamented, "It’s so sad that doxxing has become a political tool by extremists." Another added, "This from the people that say dems can’t take a joke!"

A third viewer remarked, "That is horrible. Laura is such a gifted actor and gives us fantastic performances. The Melania skit on Colbert was so funny. We needed that laughter. To think that Laura had to go through this is terrifying and very disturbing."
Another comment reflected disbelief at the extreme reaction: "I remember seeing her for the first time thinking about how good her impression was. To find out how much of her life got upended by a dope impression is insane. What the heck is wrong with people?!?"
Meanwhile, Melania Trump sparked body double theories by wearing an 'inappropriate' gown that broke protocol.
