‘Love Island USA’ Dares Contestants to Spit Fish Heads and Baked Beans into Each Other’s Mouths
Nothing screams “Love Island USA” like contestants spitting food into each other’s mouths, and this season is no exception.
In the episode aired on July 10, contestants faced a grocery store setup filled with disgusting items like sardines, baked beans, pickled eggs, and mushroom soup. The challenge required couples to transfer these items from one mouth to another before weighing them on a scale.
This revolting exchange of fluids nearly made some contestants vomit. The challenge escalated with condiments like mayo and ketchup, which left both the Islanders and viewers gagging.
Food-themed challenges have become a staple of Love Island USA, with past seasons featuring equally grotesque tasks. Season 7, for instance, had contestants transferring milk mouth-to-mouth in one of its most infamous moments.
After weeks filled with connections, breakups, and drama, the love experiment is set to conclude on July 12. The remaining couples will be narrowed down to a final four, which America will vote on.
As in previous seasons, each couple will embark on individual dates. They will decide whether to stay together and write “vows” for each other before the winning couple is announced.

The finale will feature an envelope ceremony where the couple with the most public votes receives two envelopes: one containing $100,000 and the other empty. The partner holding the cash must choose whether to share it or keep it all, testing their trust and commitment.
The Love Island franchise kicked off in the U.K. in 2002 and has since expanded globally, including Love Island USA on Peacock. Each season features a new group of singles vying to pair off for a shot at the $100,000 prize.
Season 8 has not been without its controversies, both on and off-screen. Vasana Montgomery was removed from the show after old social media posts surfaced showing her using a slur.
Casa Amor contestant Alannah Keyser also faced backlash and was pulled from the season due to a resurfaced video allegedly showing her using a racial slur.
Similar issues plagued season 7, with Yulissa Escobar leaving shortly after her arrival when clips of her using racial slurs on a podcast emerged online.
Cierra Ortega from season 7 also faced criticism for her own resurfaced social media posts containing slurs. She was removed from the villa and later issued an apology for her past actions.
New episodes of Love Island USA drop six days a week—except Wednesdays—on Peacock.
