Marco Rubio Humiliated Again in Oversized Shoes: A Fashion Disaster

Jun 15 2026

Secretary of State Marco Rubio's latest public appearance turned into a spectacle as he was seen wearing shoes that were comically oversized, drawing immediate ridicule.

During a recent UFC event at the White House, Rubio's footwear became the center of attention, with social media users quick to point out that his shoes appeared far too large for his feet.

This isn't the first time Rubio has faced mockery over his shoes. Previously, he revealed that President Donald Trump personally selected the $145 Florsheim shoes for him. In photos from the event, it’s evident that his foot does not fill the shoe, leading to a wave of online jabs.

Comments flooded in, with one user quipping, "When you’re a size 8, but the 8.5 was on sale." Another chimed in, "Looks like the White House costume design department has a small budget." The event also saw Trump looking visibly unwell, raising health concerns among attendees.

One critic remarked, "I see lil Marco is still wearing the oversized shoes his daddy master bought him. What a joke." Another added, "Good grief. Surely he can buy an identical pair of Florsheims that fit and chuck these in the dumpster when no one is looking."

Earlier this month, Rubio defended his choice of footwear, insisting that the shoes actually fit him well. This bizarre defense came after Rep. Sara Jacobs (D-Calif.) accused him of lying during a congressional hearing.

Jacobs confronted Rubio with a pointed question: "Mr. Secretary, who won the 2020 presidential election?" Taken aback, Rubio deflected, stating, "I’m not here to answer — I told you about 2020. This is a foreign affairs committee. It doesn’t apply to political matters."

Jacobs pressed on, asserting, "OK, you can’t answer the question, even though we all know that President Biden won." Rubio maintained his stance, claiming he does not engage in domestic political issues as Secretary of State.

Jacobs insisted her inquiry was about democracy rather than domestic politics. Rubio retorted, "It most certainly is. You’re asking me to opine. Just like I don’t do campaign rallies — I don’t do them because, as Secretary of State, we’re not supposed to." He emphasized the long-standing tradition within the department.

The shoe controversy resurfaced when Jacobs highlighted the Florsheim shoes Trump had gifted Rubio months prior, which appeared ill-fitting. Photos showed a noticeable gap between the back of the shoes and his heels. Jacobs accused him of being unable to admit facts.

"You can’t say that the president lost the 2020 election," she stated. "Just like you won’t admit that President Trump is losing this reckless war of choice, and just like you couldn’t admit that the shoes the president bought you were too big." She concluded with a scathing remark about his inability to acknowledge reality.

Rubio seemed flustered and confused by Jacobs' comments, responding, "I don’t know what shoes she’s talking about. What is she talking about?"

In March, Vice President JD Vance disclosed that Trump had purchased new Florsheim shoes for all male Cabinet members, criticizing their previous footwear as subpar. Photos confirmed that Rubio's shoes remained too large for him.

Trump reportedly extended this shoe gifting to MAGA allies including Sean Hannity and Senator Lindsey Graham. Allegedly, he enjoys starting Cabinet meetings by asking if everyone is satisfied with their new footwear.

A female White House official humorously noted, “All the boys have them,” while another joked about the pressure to wear them. Trump is said to include personal notes with each pair he sends out.

Vance recounted an interaction where Trump emphasized the importance of proper footwear during a meeting with Rubio and another politician. He described how Trump presented a shoe catalog and asked for their sizes.

Trump reportedly estimates shoe sizes in front of those present and has aides place orders accordingly. The White House asserts that Trump personally covers the cost of these shoes and sends them out in signature boxes.

This incident follows closely on the heels of a lip reader revealing Trump's desperate plea during a recent Knicks game where he was met with boos.
