Mary Trump: The Silver Lining in the Trump Family’s Dark Legacy
Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) declared Mary Trump, niece of Donald Trump, a “silver lining” in the shadow of her family's political influence.
On Capitol Hill, Raskin praised her presence, stating, “Mary Trump is a great silver lining in this whole story.” He emphasized that she exemplifies the idea that “nobody from any family is irredeemable.”
Raskin highlighted her role as a steadfast opponent of her uncle, noting her background as a therapist who values human psychology and creativity. “It just makes me really happy every time I get to see Mary Trump. I love her. And she gives me a lot of faith in the future of humanity,” he added.
Mary Trump, author of the bestselling 2020 book “Too Much And Never Enough: How My Family Created The World’s Most Dangerous Man,” has been vocal in her criticism of Donald Trump.
She recently attacked her uncle’s dubious “real man” image, the myth of his supposed “genius” instilled by his father, and his obsession with self-naming as a reflection of his unfulfilled need for love.
“The only thing, the thing he most desperately wants in his life, is to be loved,” said Mary Trump, a clinical psychologist who does not treat the president. “He never has been sufficiently. He never will be. That is an impossible thing for him to achieve.”
In a video alongside Rep. Becca Balint (D-Vt.), Mary Trump stressed the necessity for Democrats to implement significant changes upon regaining power to prevent living under the threat of fascism.
Gee, who do you think she was talking about?
