Mom Rips GOP Congresswoman for Dissing 10-Year-Old Son's Electric Car Letter
A North Carolina mom is fuming after a GOP congresswoman slammed her 10-year-old son’s letter. Emily Mango, hailing from Greensboro, didn’t hold back in her Instagram tirade against Representative Virginia Foxx, branding her comments as “demoralizing,” “reprehensible,” and “totally inappropriate.”
Mango revealed that her son, Christian, was tasked with writing a persuasive essay for school. The young scholar chose to advocate for electric cars, proposing a $5,000 tax rebate to encourage their purchase. He even made sure to include “4th Grade” on the return address when he mailed it off to Foxx.

Foxx responded with a note thanking Christian for his letter, which Mango shared online. She claimed they both “agree about the importance of fostering innovation” in the auto industry. But then came the kicker: Foxx argued that Christian’s proposal would mean taking “money out of the pockets of hardworking people.”
In a bizarre twist, Foxx attached articles to her response, one ominously titled “2038,” warning that the U.S. would soon face a debt crisis. “2038 is only 12 years away and YOU and your classmates will be responsible for that debt,” she wrote, adding a condescending note about propaganda and indoctrination in schools.

Mango fired back, accusing Foxx of attacking not just her son but also his teachers and education. “A 10-year-old has not been exposed to these concepts,” she pointed out, calling the 82-year-old congresswoman “out of touch.”
“I’m embarrassed that she represents NC,” Mango declared. “We need leaders who encourage civil discourse instead of tearing down kids who reach out.”

Christian himself weighed in, telling FOX8 WGHP that it was “wrong” for Foxx to criticize his teacher because “the school didn’t do anything.”
Foxx, who has been in office since 2005 and received Trump’s endorsement in 2021, has yet to respond to the backlash.
