Nationwide 'No Kings' Protests Against Trump Set for This Weekend

Activists are gearing up for a series of “No Kings” protests this weekend, targeting Donald Trump and his administration's policies. Organizers anticipate large crowds nationwide, echoing sentiments of resistance against what they describe as authoritarian governance.

Last October, millions took to the streets from coast to coast, brandishing signs with messages like “Presidents Not Dictators,” “Down With Crowns,” and “F*** Trump.” The movement has gained momentum, with calls for renewed participation in demonstrations scheduled for Saturday.

Trump has dismissed these protests as “very small” and “very ineffective,” asserting, “I’m not a king. I work my a** off to make our country great,” during a press conference last year.

According to reports, over 3,100 protests are slated for Saturday. In Los Angeles County alone, more than 40 events are planned, including a significant gathering at City Hall from 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. local time. Meanwhile, New York City will host a mass march near Central Park from 2 to 4 p.m.

Chicago is also set to witness several protests, with one major event at Butler Field Grant Park from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. local time. The initial wave of “No Kings” protests erupted last June during Trump’s military parade, coinciding with his 79th birthday, drawing millions of participants across the nation and globally.

“His attempt to turn June 14 into a coronation collapsed, and the story became the strength of a movement rising against his authoritarian power grabs,” protest organizers stated on their website.

For the upcoming protests, organizers have cited specific grievances against the Trump administration, including its aggressive immigration policies that have led to federal agents patrolling streets. The tragic deaths of U.S. citizens Renee Good and Alex Pretti at the hands of immigration agents in Minneapolis earlier this year sparked outrage and prompted Democratic lawmakers to demand reforms before approving funding for the Homeland Security Department.

Additionally, organizers have expressed concerns over the recent Iran war initiated by the U.S. and Israel. “Now, President Trump has doubled down…spending billions of our tax dollars on missile strikes abroad all while driving up the cost of living and handing out massive giveaways to billionaire allies,” they remarked.

As Saturday approaches, the anticipation builds for what could be one of the largest coordinated protests against the Trump administration yet.
