On May 24, Cruz took to X to share his side of the story, claiming, “Not to overexaggerate, but I’ve never seen anything like it.” Yet, despite his enthusiasm, Minaj wasn’t having it. Bruesewitz recounted how Cruz and his team “literally sprinted down the hallway,” begging for a picture. “I told Ted we were in a rush; we had to get to the White House and didn’t have time for photos with every fan,” he added.
While Minaj graciously posed for photos with other staffers and officials, Cruz was left out in the cold. Bruesewitz remarked, “We just didn’t have time for Ted.” He further noted that associating with “Lyin’ Ted” wasn’t exactly a smart move for Minaj’s brand. “I was looking out for my girl,” he quipped.
After being turned down for the formal photo, Cruz allegedly cornered them again as they were leaving, managing to snag a quick shot that Bruesewitz described as an attempt to make Cruz look “cool.” The Trump advisor didn’t mince words: “Extremely creepy. I sure as heck won’t be taking any foreign policy advice from a guy who behaves like that.”
