Olympic Bronze Medalist and OnlyFans Sensation Alysha Newman Slapped with 20-Month Ban for Drug Test Fiasco

Team Canada is back in the spotlight, and not for the right reasons.

Alysha Newman, the Canadian Olympic bronze medalist pole vaulter and OnlyFans sensation, has been handed a 20-month ban from her sport after failing to show up for drug tests. Despite her impressive bronze win at the 2024 Paris Olympics, track and field investigators have accepted that she has effectively retired from pole vaulting.

Newman made headlines again when she competed in two Diamond League events in May 2025, held in Qatar and Morocco, but now her athletic future hangs in the balance.

She’s not the only one stirring controversy within Team Canada. The 2026 Winter Olympics have already seen their fair share of scandals, including allegations of rule-breaking in curling and manipulation in skeleton competitions. Canadian curlers faced accusations of “double-touching” stones during the Milan Cortina Olympics, while the skeleton team was caught rigging a race in Lake Placid to secure Olympic qualification points, igniting outrage across the board.

The Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) reported that Newman missed an unannounced doping control in February last year and failed to appear twice more in August. Under anti-doping regulations, three “whereabouts” failures within a year can lead to serious penalties.

During her third missed test, the AIU noted that Newman informed a sample collection official she had to leave immediately for filming a television game show. Talk about priorities!

According to global anti-doping rules, athletes must designate a one-hour window each day when they are available for testing. Newman’s suspension will end in August 2027, a lighter sentence than the standard two years typically imposed for such violations, as the AIU acknowledged her decision to step away from competition.

The AIU stated this situation is “a sufficiently unique/exceptional factor” that influenced their assessment of her culpability.

Beyond her Olympic success, Newman has also shone at two world championships, snagged gold and bronze medals at the Commonwealth Games, and earned bronze at the Pan American Games. But will her OnlyFans fame overshadow her athletic achievements?

As the dust settles on this latest scandal, one thing is clear: Alysha Newman’s journey is far from over, but it’s taking a detour through controversy.
