Ransom Canyon's Garrett Wareing Unleashes Fury Over Lucas' Betrayal After Lauren's Kiss with His Brother

Ransom Canyon's second season spiraled into chaos with a jaw-dropping betrayal: Lauren kissed Lucas' brother, Kit, while Lucas himself was entangled in a scandalous affair with Ashley.

Streaming now on Netflix, the season showcased a tangled web of relationships that left fans reeling. Wareing, who plays Lucas, is now addressing the fallout from this shocking love triangle.

“This is what is going to get the fans talking,” Wareing stated. “Who is to blame? Who is really at fault here?”

He acknowledged that Lauren's kiss was a betrayal before Lucas' own indiscretion with Ashley. The complexity deepens as Ashley is also Lauren's friend, adding layers to the already messy situation.

“With Lucas and Lauren, they both did each other wrong,” he asserted. “One of my last lines this season is ‘And I have to reckon with that.’ So I think this is Lucas’ journey moving forward, reckoning with these mistakes.”

As for Lucas' future romantic prospects, Wareing hinted at potential new love interests in season three. “Wouldn’t that be something! I think this is going to be another moment where the writers are going to listen to the fans… who do you want to be Lucas with next?”

Showrunner April Blair chimed in on the controversy surrounding Lucas' actions. “With Kit and Lauren, it was a kiss and she was like, ‘Stop.’ Meanwhile, Lucas is getting down with her best friend in the car. It’s a little hypocritical to hold him too much to task for it,” she explained.

Blair elaborated on Lauren's realization of her own faults, stating, “There’s just a fun, messy adventure to me. There are as many people who are obsessed with Kit and Lauren — or with Lauren and Lucas.”

Looking ahead, Blair promised that Lucas would “catch a break or two” after enduring a tumultuous season. Wareing relished the challenges presented to him as an actor.

“Our sweet boy Lucas kept getting blow after blow! He can’t catch a break this season,” he quipped. “But if we are talking about character arcs, there has to be an ebb and a flow — an up and a down — and to play that downward spiral as an actor was quite exciting for me.”

All parties involved seem to agree that Lucas and Lauren are destined to end up together. For now, they must navigate their separation in hopes of reuniting.

“At the end of the day, she is still the love of his life,” Wareing remarked. “When you love something, you have to let it go. So Lucas does because he loves her so much and just wants to see her happy.”

He concluded with conviction: “If Lucas and Lauren aren’t endgame, I’m never believing in love again. They resemble, to me, the idealistic kind of youthful love and longing.”
