Riley Gaines Ignites WNBA Controversy with Caitlin Clark Accusations
Riley Gaines has thrown down the gauntlet, accusing WNBA players of harboring jealousy towards Caitlin Clark purely because of her basketball skills.
The former NCAA athlete and political activist, known for her anti-trans stance, has previously dragged Clark into her political rhetoric. She has called on Clark and Olympic gymnast Simone Biles to spearhead a movement among women athletes for change.
Clark, however, maintains a neutral political stance, often using her platform to promote unity. Despite her efforts, she finds herself embroiled in the ongoing political debates surrounding the WNBA, with Gaines asserting that the envy directed at Clark is rooted in her exceptional talent.

As the host of The Riley Gaines Show on FOX News, she recently criticized the WNBA while expressing concerns for Clark's safety. Clark, a standout for the Indiana Fever, has faced aggressive play from opponents during games.
The rivalry between Clark and Angel Reese began in college and has continued into the WNBA after both were drafted on the same night. While both have achieved stardom, Clark has emerged as the more prominent figure, drawing attention for the physicality she faces on the court.
Some speculate that this targeting may be racially motivated, but Gaines dismisses that notion. "Have they considered that the one reason we care about Caitlin Clark and her safety isn’t because she’s white, isn’t because she’s straight, but because she’s good at basketball?" she stated.
Gaines continued her tirade on FOX, taking aim at former Vice President Kamala Harris for visiting the Los Angeles Sparks' locker room. She pointed out that FBI Director Kash Patel faced backlash for entering the locker room of the U.S. men's Olympic hockey team earlier this year.

Returning to Clark, Gaines declared, "Here’s what I’ll say about Caitlin Clark. It goes without saying that she is the golden goose of the WNBA."
She further questioned whether animosity towards Clark stemmed from her race or sexuality, suggesting it was fundamentally rooted in jealousy. "I think she was the queen of the WNBA before she ever stepped foot on a WNBA court, and they hate her for it," Gaines asserted.
Gaines wrapped up her segment by lambasting the WNBA as an organization, claiming it is responsible for its own decline despite its growth. She criticized its business model due to its ties with the NBA.
"I have not seen a league or an organization that is more dedicated to self-imploding than the WNBA," Gaines remarked. "But I don’t think they have to necessarily worry about their marketing or their ratings because they subsidize from the NBA."
