Teenage Girl Arrested for Stabbing Three Horses at Las Vegas Racing Event

A teenage girl has been arrested and charged for allegedly stabbing three horses during a racing event in Las Vegas. Police confirmed that none of the animals suffered life-threatening injuries.

The stabbings occurred early Saturday morning at a barn within the South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa's equestrian center, which was hosting a horse racing event over the weekend.

This shocking incident unfolded after the organizers of the 2026 NBHA Professional's Choice Vegas Super Show announced that a competitor had been removed from the races due to a horse mistreatment issue.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police have not disclosed the identity of the teenage suspect or her connection to the racing event. However, they stated she had access to the barn where the stabbings occurred. Officers responded to the scene around 2 a.m. local time after reports indicated that three horses had been intentionally injured with a sharp object.

Investigators suspect the girl used a knife to inflict multiple injuries on the horses. She was apprehended at a hotel near the barn and booked at Clark County Juvenile Hall on 12 counts of animal cruelty, which includes charges for intentionally aiming or torturing a horse, along with three counts of malicious destruction of property.
