Trump's $14 Million Reflecting Pool Turns Into Algae Swamp Amid Cleanup Chaos

President Donald Trump’s $14 million renovation of the Reflecting Pool has backfired spectacularly, with algae blooms emerging just days after he proclaimed it filled with “CLEAN, BEAUTIFUL WATER.”

Less than two weeks post-refill, the pool is now a green mess, forcing the administration to scramble for solutions to combat the algae invasion.

Efforts to tackle the problem include workers donning hip-waders to vacuum the water and dumping gallons of hydrogen peroxide into the pool, as reported by CNN.

The Interior Department insists a “state-of-the-art” filtration system was installed during renovations and claims it is operational.

“Due to deploying the advanced nanobubbler technology, the algae is dead and being vacuumed up as we speak,” an Interior Department spokesperson stated. “The nanobubbler technology has successfully destroyed the algae bloom that has plagued every pool reopening.”

Despite these assurances, a worker at the National Mall told CNN that cleaning the entire pool would take “an entire lifetime.”

Before the renovations, Trump slammed the pool’s green water as “disgusting” and “not representative of the country.”

This algae issue isn’t unique to Trump; previous administrations have struggled with it as well. In 2012, algae reappeared swiftly after a $34 million renovation under the Obama administration.
