Trump's Inner Circle Under Fire: Demands for Epstein Meeting Testimonies Intensify

Rep. Robert Garcia (D-Calif.) is demanding answers from the Trump administration about secret meetings held in the Situation Room, where senior officials allegedly strategized on how to manage the fallout from the Epstein Files.

Garcia has called for interviews with key figures including Vice President JD Vance, acting Attorney General Todd Blanche, FBI Director Kash Patel, and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles. These officials reportedly attended a July 2025 meeting focused on convincing the public of Trump's innocence concerning Jeffrey Epstein, the convicted sex offender.

In a letter to committee Chairman Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.), Garcia stated, “The New York Times reporting is yet another demonstration that the Trump Administration is strictly opposed to transparency and, instead, has chosen to engage in a coverup of the Epstein files to protect Donald Trump.” He emphasized that all involved must answer to the Committee and that withholding information about Epstein from the public is unacceptable.

The New York Times report indicates that Vance led multiple meetings with senior officials to determine how the Justice Department should handle the release of millions of Epstein files. Supporters of Trump have long demanded these documents be made public.

At one point, Vance suggested interviewing Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s imprisoned co-conspirator, to assert that Trump had done nothing wrong.

Inside the White House, officials struggled to agree on a strategy to address the escalating scandal surrounding Epstein, which Trump has failed to dismiss. The fallout from the Epstein Files remains a significant concern for many Democrats in Congress, who have been probing connections between high-ranking politicians and Epstein.

Recently, billionaire Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates testified before the House Oversight Committee, denying any involvement in Epstein’s criminal activities. Gates claimed that Epstein attempted to blackmail him after discovering his extramarital affair.
