Trump Slams Bill Maher as 'Pathetic' for Being 'So Scared' in Oval Office Encounter
President Trump unleashed a scathing attack on Bill Maher following the comedian's recent tête-à-tête with California Governor Gavin Newsom.
Their history is a rollercoaster of barbs and occasional camaraderie, highlighted by a private dinner at the White House last year, but the gloves are off again.
On Saturday, Trump took to his Truth Social platform, reigniting the feud with a venomous tirade. “I hate seeing Fox and other Conservative Outlets constantly making Low Rated Bill Maher ‘relevant’ as it pertains to the Republican Party, and beyond,” he fumed.
“Fox should stop putting this person on. He’s not representing us. You look weak, stupid, and ineffective, and I hate seeing that.”

The Daily Beast reported that Trump's outburst followed a segment on Fox’s The Big Weekend Show, which dissected Maher’s Friday interview with Newsom on Real Time with Bill Maher.
Recalling their dinner, orchestrated by mutual friend Kid Rock, Trump painted Maher as “nervous, scared,” recalling how the first words out of Maher’s mouth upon entering the Oval Office were, “Can I have a drink?” Trump found it “endearing” yet “absolutely pathetic.”
“He was much different from what people think,” Trump continued. “But last night, I happened to watch Gavin Newscum, an admittedly Low IQ person, who said he can’t read a speech, is dumb, and essentially incompetent. He took Bill Maher ‘over the coals.’”

Trump didn’t hold back: “Bill Maher was defenseless and totally deficient. Either he didn’t have the knowledge or he choked because Gavin went on and on about how good California is doing while it’s having the worst year it’s ever had.”
He wrapped up his post by urging Fox to stop giving Maher airtime, labeling him a “MORON, though slightly more talented than Jimmy Kimmel.”
Meanwhile, The Big Weekend Show panel had praised Maher for his combative style during the interview with Newsom, where he likened the governor's tactics to Trump's. “Among all the people who may or may not be running, you are the one who kind of imitates his style with the trolling — you’re suing Fox now, I understand,” Maher quipped.

Newsom dismissed the comparison, asserting that his actions were merely strategic reflections of his opponents. “I’m trying to put a mirror up to Donald Trump,” he stated. “We’re just trying to reflect that reality and express the absurdity of all of this.”
Earlier this year, Maher expressed confusion over Trump’s expectation that he would cease criticism after their dinner. “I never stopped criticizing him,” Maher declared. “I never said I would. I know how women feel now: A guy buys you dinner and expects you to put out. I’m not that guy.”
