Grandmother Linked to Gruesome Slaying of Four Grandchildren Before Father's Summer Visit

A 64-year-old woman is now suspected of being “involved” in the shocking deaths of her daughter and four grandchildren, all found dead in her home. Authorities are investigating the mass fatalities that occurred just ahead of a planned summer visit from the children’s father.

The deceased include Harper Harmon, 13, Hudson Harmon, 11, and twins Gavin and Gracelynn Harmon, both 10, alongside their mother, Sarah Myers, 44. The Mechanicville Police Department confirmed the grim discovery inside Amy Steadman’s residence.

The children’s father, Brady Harmon, had been preparing to pick them up on July 1. He expressed his anguish over the situation, stating, “I spent thousands of dollars trying just to get access to them... I got nothing other than these four beautiful kids — they’re gone.” He accused two individuals of being responsible for the tragedy.

Mechanicville Chief of Police William Rabbitt revealed that officers conducted a welfare check at Steadman’s home after neighbors reported concerns about her absence. The investigation uncovered sharp-force injuries on one child and evidence suggesting “intentional poisoning,” including various prescription and over-the-counter medications found in Steadman’s apartment.

Rabbitt stated that “evidence recovered during the investigation, including a handwritten note and other circumstantial evidence, strongly suggests that Amy Steadman was involved in the deaths.” The investigation remains ongoing.

Brady Harmon, residing in Utah, shared that he had been married to Myers for years until she abruptly moved to upstate New York in 2019 with their children. He filed for divorce a year later and has been battling for visitation rights ever since. His last in-person encounter with his children was in November 2019. He had intended to fly to the East Coast to bring them back to Utah for the summer.

“She destroyed my life. She destroyed my family. All of us are now trying to figure out what happened,” Harmon lamented regarding Myers.
