Olivia Wilde Denies Screaming Match with Florence Pugh Amidst On-Set Chaos

Olivia Wilde is slashing through the rampant rumors of chaos on the set of her 2022 film, “Don’t Worry Darling.”

Speculation erupted before the film's premiere, suggesting a toxic atmosphere among Wilde, Florence Pugh, and Harry Styles. The actress, 42, and her co-stars were at the center of these swirling allegations.

Wilde categorically denied claims of screaming matches with Pugh during production. “I have never had a screaming match on my set. I was never not available on set,” she stated bluntly in an interview.

She also reflected on the intense scrutiny surrounding her relationship with Styles, which began during filming. The couple dated for nearly two years before their split in 2022.

Wilde described the romance as “loving and wonderful and joyful,” but revealed she was advised to remain silent amid the gossip. “I was told, ‘Don’t say a f–king word. Just go out there and smile,’” she recounted, expressing resentment over that advice.

“I wanted to be like, ‘None of this is true,’” she added, lamenting how Hollywood stripped her of her “naïveté for sure.”

The “Tron: Legacy” star expressed her disdain for being misunderstood. During the filming of the 2011 comedy “Butter,” Jennifer Garner offered Wilde a stark perspective on public perception.

Garner told her it’s like being cast in a soap opera by the public, assigning her an archetype: the damsel in distress or the pretty girl. Wilde felt that “Don’t Worry Darling” flipped that narrative.

“I became the full-on villain,” she declared, likening herself to Disney’s Cruella de Vil.

Wilde faced backlash for her relationship with Styles, which upset many. “It really did upset people. It was crazy,” she admitted during an appearance on “Call Her Daddy.”

Sources previously reported that Pugh was not pleased with Wilde and Styles’ relationship. A source claimed, “Flo seeing Olivia and Harry all over each other on set did not go down well as Olivia was still with Jason when she first hooked up with Harry.”

Wilde’s ex, Jason Sudeikis, and she were together from 2011 until 2020 and share two children.

In September 2022, an insider alleged that a “blowout argument” occurred between Wilde and Pugh in January 2021 due to Pugh’s frustration over Wilde’s unexplained absences.

“Olivia and Harry would just disappear,” the insider claimed, suggesting that tensions escalated into a screaming match.

Sources also indicated that Wilde’s relationship with Styles contributed to her split from Sudeikis.

One insider revealed that Sudeikis was distraught over Wilde’s alleged affair with Styles. “Jason and the kids visited Olivia on set at the beginning a few times, so I think this all made people feel a little uncomfortable,” they noted.

Despite the swirling rumors, Wilde praised Pugh on Instagram, stating, “Watching this woman work was such a f–king thrill! Cannot wait to show you more.”

Pugh never responded publicly to Wilde’s comments.
