Another user suggested Trump was employing a "sensory grounding technique." They claimed he was checking if his arm was functioning and managing his anxieties. "You can see he is using it to self-assess," they wrote, observing his zig-zagging walk.
Another commentator asserted that Trump uses this technique to ensure his leg moves properly.
Several users linked Trump's hand movements to signs of dementia. One wrote, "People that had a stroke pat their leg while walking primarily to simulate sensory nerves and trigger the brain-to-muscle connection." This action, known as sensory cueing or "waking up" the leg, helps the brain recognize limb position and prompts movement.
One user shared an AI-generated Google result indicating that dementia patients often engage in repetitive self-stimulatory behavior, such as patting or tapping themselves, as a coping mechanism for anxiety or overstimulation.
Despite widespread speculation about Trump's mental health, no official diagnosis has been made by his doctors. Trump has boasted about passing cognitive tests, claiming he has done so perfectly each time.
