Trump's Midnight Message: 'Sit Back and Relax' as Panic Sets In

Jun 01 2026

President Donald Trump posted a bizarre message at 1 a.m., telling Americans to "sit back and relax." This odd call for calm comes as tensions rise over the situation in Iran.

In a Truth Social update, Trump claimed, "Iran really wants to make a deal, and it will be a good one for the U.S.A. and those that are with us." His tone suggests a level of confidence that many find unsettling given the current geopolitical climate.

Trump slammed "Dumocrats" and "seemingly unpatriotic Republicans," asserting that their constant criticism complicates his ability to negotiate effectively. He stated, "It's MUCH tougher for me to properly do my job and negotiate when political hacks keep negatively 'chirping' at levels never seen before, over and over again."

He faced backlash for his policies, which critics argue he implements either too quickly or too slowly. In his late-night post, he reassured followers, "Just sit back and relax, it will all work out well in the end - It always does!"

In another brief post, Trump provocatively asked, "Has anyone ever seen a happy Dumocrat???" This term is one he frequently uses to deride Democrats.

During a conversation with Lara Trump, he explained the origin of the term while criticizing House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, calling him "real dumb." He stated, "I said, 'He's real dumb,' so I think it works."

Trump's comments come as he claimed that Iran's military has remained largely untouched by U.S. strikes in recent months. This contradicts his previous assertions about having decimated Iran's military capabilities.

In a Fox News interview with Lara Trump, he appeared to backtrack on earlier claims of having destroyed Iran's navy and air force. He stated, "Their military, we've sort of left it alone, because we think that their military is somewhat, somewhat moderate.... We've actually left their military alone. People would be surprised to hear that."

He argued that preserving Iran's military is crucial to prevent chaos similar to what unfolded in Iraq and Syria after the removal of Saddam Hussein's regime in 2003. "Mistakes have been made in wars where you wipe out everybody, and then you have a country that, for 40 years, you can never rebuild," Trump remarked.

He described Iran as being in a "very bad position," claiming they lack a military and only possess "good talk and a fake press."

The conflict in Iran began on February 28. Despite Trump's administration repeatedly stating it would conclude in "days" or weeks, it has now dragged into its third month.

This comes on the heels of Trump's recent hospital visit, where a doctor explained his "painful and disabling" chronic disease.
