President Donald Trump’s delusions reached new heights as he boasted about the Great American State Fair in Washington, D.C., claiming it was “packed with happy people.”
He posed a rhetorical question on Truth Social, shouting in all caps: “‘DO YOU THINK THAT OBUMA OR SLEEPY JOE BIDEN COULD HAVE DONE IT?’ THE ANSWER IS NO!”
Reality check: the fair was far from packed. Footage and photos, including a live broadcast on Fox News, revealed only a handful of attendees wandering the grounds of the National Mall, contradicting his claims of bustling crowds.
Trump’s jabs at his predecessors fell flat, especially the “Sleepy” jab aimed at Joe Biden, considering Trump’s own well-documented moments of dozing off in public.
Despite the lackluster turnout, Trump insisted on Monday that people should “appreciate what a fantastic job we did” in organizing the Great American State Fair, which he claimed “everybody” was enjoying. Critics quickly pointed out the event’s dullness and ridiculed his desperate plea for validation.
