Trump Threatens Communism, Promises Republicans 100 Years of Election Dominance

President Donald Trump unleashed a fiery warning about a “communist menace in our land” while demanding Republican lawmakers pass his SAVE America Act and eliminate the filibuster, vowing election victories for the next century if they comply.

“America will never be a communist country. We can only lose the midterms if we allow ourselves to lose the midterms, if we are foolish, stupid and unwise,” Trump declared at Mount Rushmore in South Dakota. He insisted, “But if we terminate the filibuster as we should do and immediately vote for the SAVE America Act, then we will not lose an election for 100 years.”

For months, Trump has pressured Republicans to end the filibuster, deepening divisions within the party. Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.) stated, “The votes aren’t there, one, to nuke the filibuster, and the votes aren’t there for a talking filibuster.”

Trump's demands extend beyond the filibuster; he insists Congress must pass the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act, known as the SAVE Act. This legislation would mandate that voters provide in-person proof of citizenship to register.

“We do that, we’re not going to lose an election for 100 years,” Trump reiterated before launching into an anti-communist tirade.

The president's insistence on action comes amid right-wing hysteria over democratic socialists following their recent primary wins, mischaracterizing them as “communist,” a term that represents a different ideology altogether.

“The Communist Party is made up of illegal immigrants, criminals, and everybody that doesn’t want to work. Communism is a loser. It always was, and it is right now,” Trump asserted. “It’s a big loser. Look at the people that are promoting it. They are not the people you’re going to follow.”
