Father of ‘The Ring’ Star Daveigh Chase Mourns on Her 36th Birthday Amid Family Feud

John Schwallier, father of the late actress Daveigh Chase, is grappling with the loss of his daughter on what would have been her 36th birthday, expressing his grief in a raw message. “Every day I am thinking about her constantly,” he stated.

Schwallier claims he has no personal photos of Daveigh, stating, “The sad part is the only pictures I have of [Daveigh] is what I’ve printed on the internet, since her mother kept me away from her.” He referred to Cathy, Daveigh’s mother, who currently holds the actress’ remains and is seeking to be named administrator of her $400,000 estate.

“She was taken from this life way too early,” Schwallier lamented about his daughter, who passed away just last month. He added, “I just want to wish her a happy birthday today and [tell her] that she is on my mind every day.”

Cathy’s attorney has been contacted for a response regarding Schwallier’s claims. In court documents concerning Daveigh’s estate, Cathy alleged that Schwallier “resides in the Philippines with an unknown address” but also “keeps properties” in Las Vegas.

Daveigh died at age 35 on June 16 after battling meningitis and severe blood infections that led to septic shock. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office later confirmed that her cause of death was acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) and polysubstance use disorder.

Schwallier expressed that the autopsy report “doesn’t surprise” him, acknowledging the lifestyle she led. He revealed that he hadn’t seen Daveigh since she was about six years old, although they maintained phone contact throughout her childhood. “I had an empty feeling inside for not being with her for all these years,” he admitted.

Following her death, Daveigh’s body was cremated, and her remains were sent to Cathy, who keeps them at her home in Chatsworth, California.

In her final years, Daveigh reportedly lived on the notorious skid row in Downtown Los Angeles after succumbing to drug addiction. After news of her death broke, her longtime manager John Ryan disclosed that he and Daveigh’s stepsister, Gaia Brown, had been working with a private investigator for a year to locate her and provide assistance.
