Love Island USA's Bryce Alakai Dettloff Claims He Was Bullied for Being Too Attractive

In a jaw-dropping moment on Love Island USA, Bryce Alakai Dettloff revealed he was bullied not for being unattractive, but for being too good-looking.

During a recent episode, Trinity Tatum bluntly asked Bryce if he had “an ugly face growing up.” His response? A shocking admission that he was actually the target of jealousy.

“No, I looked like a girl,” Bryce stated. “But it is funny because all the girls liked me.”

He recounted a specific incident from his middle school days that highlights the absurdity of his situation.

“I remember in 7th grade, there was a girl in 8th grade who was the hottest girl in all the school,” he shared. “She came up to me and told me I was the cutest guy ever.”

This compliment didn’t sit well with his male peers. “All the guys hated me and started bullying me for it. All the guys used to bully me because they thought I was better looking,” he explained.

Meanwhile, the drama in the villa escalated as Islanders shared their own shocking stories. One revelation involved an Islander who had a fling with someone in their 50s.

Gabriel Vasconcelos, 26, described his encounter with a 52-year-old woman. “I was out and I was having a good time with my friends. She started talking to me and she was hot as f*** for her age,” he said. “We had a good night together. She had a lot of experience.”

The humor continued when narrator Iain Stirling likened Gabriel to a “reverse Leonardo DiCaprio,” poking fun at his dating history.

Season 8 of Love Island USA also features a lineup of contestants including Aniya Harvey, Beatriz Hatz, KC Chandler, Mackenzie “Kenzie” Annis, Melanie Moreno, Sincere Rhea, Sean Reifel, Trinity, Corbin Mims, Kayda Bosse, and Zach Georgiou.

Notably absent is Vasana Montgomery, who was cut from the season after old social media posts surfaced showing her using a racial slur. She was removed before entering the villa due to these leaked clips from her private accounts.

Vasana addressed the controversy via her Instagram Story, stating, “I want to address a couple videos from my teen years that have recently resurfaced. In those videos, I used a racial slur. I am embarrassed and disappointed by my words.”

She took accountability for her past actions. “I take full responsibility for what I said and understand why it has hurt and upset people,” she added. “Since then, I have grown a lot as a person and taken the time to educate myself, listen, learn, and better understand the impact that language can have.”

Vasana emphasized that her growth does not erase her mistake. “That growth does not erase my mistake, and I am not asking anyone to excuse it. I believe people should be held accountable for their actions, but I also believe in growth, learning, and becoming better. To anyone I hurt or disappointed, I am truly sorry.”
