Mary Trump didn't hold back, labeling her uncle "unhinged" and "belligerent," questioning his mental capabilities as he spirals further into chaos.
The niece of President Donald Trump claims his mental state is deteriorating, describing the current political climate as a "perfect storm" for his "longstanding, undiagnosed and untreated psychiatric disorders." She asserts these issues have plagued him for decades.
Mary, a clinical psychologist, stated that untreated psychiatric illnesses worsen over time. She expressed her concerns during an interview, emphasizing the alarming trajectory of her uncle's mental health.
At 61 years old, Mary has been vocal about her worries for months. Just last month, she told journalist Steven Beschloss that Trump appears to be in a "downward spiral."
She pointed out his multiple cognitive assessments, highlighting his bragging about results. Alzheimer's disease runs in their family; Trump's father suffered from it for nearly a decade.
Mary noted Trump's inability to stay awake unless the conversation revolves around him. "He simply cannot stay awake during the day unless people are talking about him," she stated.
She also mentioned impulsivity and physical symptoms, including swelling in his ankles, bruising on his hands, and difficulty walking.
Mary discussed her uncle's mental state in detail, asserting that the simultaneous crises he faces contribute to his increasingly erratic behavior. "It shouldn’t surprise us he’s becoming increasingly erratic, belligerent, and violent," she concluded.
She criticized his rhetoric regarding Iran as "completely unhinged." Yellin echoed this sentiment, suggesting Trump exhibits a "bloodlust" for Iran that is "deeply unnerving."
Trump threatened to "decimate and destroy" Iran if it acts on threats against him. In a Truth Social post, he declared, "1000 Missiles are Locked and Loaded and aimed at the Islamic Republic of Iran," warning of severe consequences should they attempt to assassinate him.
Mary previously stated that her uncle's condition seems to be "getting rapidly worse," exacerbated by undiagnosed psychiatric disorders.
"Given his advancing age, there seem to be indications of cognitive issues," she remarked, referencing the cognitive tests and MRIs that have surfaced without specific details.
She observed that Trump often appears unaware of his surroundings or audience. "Oftentimes, it seems that he’s not exactly aware of where he is or the audience he’s speaking to," she added.
On Monday, Mary described her uncle as "a terrified little boy" at heart. She explained that his greatest fear is being exposed as a loser.
"In my family, being considered a loser was essentially a death sentence," she said, reflecting on her father's fate after choosing a different path than expected.
Mary asserted that Trump spends every moment trying to avoid being seen as the failure he believes himself to be. She characterized him as a "black hole of need."
She lamented that despite his quest for love and validation, stemming from a dysfunctional upbringing, he remains incapable of accepting genuine affection. "None of it is ever enough," she concluded.
In response to Mary’s comments, White House Communications Director Steven Cheung dismissed her as a "stone-cold loser" lacking insight. He accused her of relying on falsehoods about Trump to maintain relevance.
