Trump's Outrageous UFC Freedom 250 Prediction Sparks Controversy Amid Rogan's Critique

U.S. President Donald Trump has declared UFC Freedom 250 "the highest-rated event maybe ever in sports," a statement that raises eyebrows amid mounting criticism.

The event, scheduled for June 14, features Ilia Topuria facing Justin Gaethje on the South Lawn of the White House. Construction is already underway, transforming the iconic grounds into a massive arena.

A customized 4,300-seat open-air arena, dubbed "The Claw," is taking shape, complete with an 87-foot canopy to illuminate the Octagon. UFC CEO Dana White's team is behind this ambitious project.

Across the street at The Ellipse, a UFC fanzone will accommodate around 85,000 spectators, showcasing the fight on large screens. This setup promises unprecedented attendance for a UFC event.

Trump anticipates that viewership will eclipse any previous sporting event due to global interest. "It's right at the front door of the White House," he stated in an exclusive interview. "You'll never see it again, and it's never happened before."

He praised Dana White's efforts, claiming, "What he's done is amazing. I'm not sure anybody could've done it but him." Trump's admiration for White is clear as he emphasizes the uniqueness of this event.

However, the construction on the South Lawn has not come without backlash. Critics have emerged since work began last week, including UFC commentator Joe Rogan.

Rogan openly questioned the decision to host the event outdoors, suggesting a change of location or at least a roof to mitigate harsh weather conditions. "The White House thing is odd. I don’t like it," he expressed on his podcast.

He highlighted concerns about the June heat in Washington, D.C., recalling last year's temperatures reaching 100 degrees. "That’s hot as f---," Rogan remarked, emphasizing discomfort for fighters and fans alike.

Former UFC fighter Josh Thomson and referee John McCarthy echoed Rogan's sentiments, raising issues about bugs and environmental control. Rogan insisted that championship fights should occur in air-conditioned arenas for optimal conditions.

Trump's bold claims about UFC Freedom 250 clash with Rogan's practical concerns about outdoor fighting conditions. "I just don’t think that you should compete in a world championship fight in a non-controlled environment," Rogan concluded.
